| CASL recognises that every candidate will have individual experiences and previous learning. This places them at varying starting points with different learning objectives to achieve the standards. CASL believes that assessment should be made accessible and fair; any candidate with a particular assessment need can use alternative means of providing evidence. Different approaches and support will be provided to allow each candidate to demonstrate their competence, recognising that any proposed assessment method is of equal quality and rigor to demonstrate the candidate has achieved the national standard fairly. We ensure each candidate is selecting the appropriate qualification route and at the correct level; it is essential that all involved are comfortable with the path chosen and that it will lead to the award selected on completion. If an individual's circumstances change during the process it is possible to transfer candidates onto another NVQ either at a higher or lower level, to ensure success is at the required level. Our plan for achieving the NVQ reflects the individual learning, development and assessment need, whilst fitting in with the candidate's work commitments and domestic priorities.
