Peter joined the family construction firm on leaving school and completed the ONC in Construction at Swindon College in 1962. He moved to Bristol College and completed the HND in Construction in 1965 and joined Bovis Construction as a Trainee Manager working in their Bristol Office, which covered contracts in the West. He joined the CITB in 1967 as a Training Adviser working originally from the Bristol Office, later moving to Exeter and then Plymouth when these offices were opened. He achieved Membership of the Institute of Building in 1967 and rejoined the family construction firm as Managing Director in 1971. The firm was based in Malmesbury employing 30 staff and operating as General Builders. Peter rejoined the CITB in 1987 as a Training Adviser, and later as a Company Development Adviser, working originally in West Wiltshire and then covering Gloucestershire, from 1990 until 2006. He achieved NVQ 4 in Training & Development in 2000 and joined CASL at its inception. |
