John Clarke FCIOB MRICS MSc BEd (CASL Internal Verifier & Assessor)

Having spent many years working in the Construction Industry, John's experience has been gained over a wide range of Construction activities in the Building, Civil Engineering, and Education and Training Sectors.

Following training in various disciplines in the Industry both on site and in a regional contractor's offices, the majority of experience gained has been in the management of the construction process in the role of contracts/project manager. Projects managed include a range of local authority developments, industrial buildings, infrastructure developments, NHS developments and various Civil Engineering projects for river and drainage boards.

Following qualification as a Further Education teacher, John taught for a number of years as a lecturer/senior lecturer in Building and Civil Engineering at a large regional Further Education College.

Until recently he was the Head of School of a Construction Department at a Further Education College offering courses of training from the traditional crafts to post degree level qualifications.

John is currently employed on a part time basis as a client's project manager responsible for the development of the project from the tender period to the completion of the work on site.  He has been involved in competence-based assessment in the technical/professional sector of the Industry for over ten years, being involved at various stages in the development process of the qualifications and was previously involved in the External Verification process by being Lead Verifier for Construction NVQs on behalf of the Joint Awarding Body of Edexcel, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
