The Construction Site Management NVQ has been replaced by the new QCF Level 6 NVQ Diploma and is suitable for people who work in the construction industry as a site Manager.  Those who require this award for obtaining a CSCS Black Card can, on registering with CASL, obtain an Experienced Worker Card which lasts for 3 years and on completion of the NVQ can obtain the full CSCS Black Card.

The Diploma is awarded at QCF Level 6 which is for those people who have a level of technical / managerial responsibility for others to ensure that the work is carried out to the required detail and standard. The essential function at this level is to be able to prove you can consistently perform and carry out your duties of setting work agendas and managing other people who may well be supervisors, it involves the application of knowledge in a broad range of activities with a substantial degree of personal responsibility and autonomy. The job role would normally be for a Senior Technician or Construction Site Manager. The QCF Construction Site Manager Level 6 Diploma will also lead to a CSCS Black Card and also membership of The Chartered Institute of Building as an Incorporated Member. Both the CSCS and CIOB Membership will need application direct to CSCS or the Chartered Institute of Building respectively.

Progression from the Construction Site Management Diploma would take the candidate to the Level 7 QCF Diploma in Construction Senior Management and a Black CSCS Card and full Corporate Membership of The Chartered Institute of Building MCIOB.

It is important to note that candidates currently registered on an NVQ can continue to completion as long as the award remains live. Candidates who are approaching the end of their registration period are notified by CASL by email at address registered with CASL.
