The Profiled Route was introduced in response to the demand for a route to a CSCS card for highly competent construction site supervisors and managers, such as those who either hold a CSCS card at the incorrect level, or have alternative qualifications which are not recognised by CSCS including HND and HNC.  It is not suitable for new supervisors or managers; applicants who are unable to demonstrate sufficient competence and experience should pursue an NVQ or SVQ.

All applications are audited by CSCS and a large number are rejected.  CASL are happy to advise on individual suitability for the Route.

This route is only available for Construction Site Managers (black card) and Construction Site Supervisors (gold card).  It requires applicants to complete an Evidence Sheet to provide an occupational specific profile against an agreed list of competencies which reflect the relevant National Occupational Standard. The completed Evidence Sheet must be reviewed by an approved and qualified reviewer, appointed by the applicant's employer, CASL can provide this service. 

Before embarking on this route the applicant, their line manager and their employer should recognise the time commitment that will be required. We would recommend the Guidance Notes (available on the CSCS website: http://cscs.uk.com) are very carefully reviewed.

All applications received by CSCS will be audited by a CSCS approved industry auditor who will review the evidence submitted and CSCS reserves the right to request further evidence.  If the auditor determines that there is insufficient evidence of an applicant's competence, they will refuse the application and recommend that the applicant registers for an appropriate NVQ, furthermore, the CSCS fee paid is not refundable so with CASLs help this is avoidable – we can help you make a successful application.
