Assessment Centre in NVQs

CASL Management Development is an approved assessment centre for NVQ's in construction, transport, building and project management. The NVQ's available are level 3, 4 & 5.

We work either directly with individuals or via their employers and over the years our reputation as a management training assessment centre has grown immensely. We work with small businesses, individuals or major corporations offer each of them the same high level of support.

At our assessment centre we can assess the work of candidates, using work based evidence, to check their ability to meet the required criteria for the NVQ qualifications. Our Assessment centre management training team are totally committed to the vocational approach and understand completely the implications for candidates who are involved in full time employment.

In 2003 our assessment centre became the first organisation to be approved to offer NVQ level 5 in construction project management. In 2005 the CIOB awarded us Chartered Building Consultancy status. Our assessment centre is continuously awarded grade 'A' by Edexcel who provide external verification inspections on an annual basis.

NVQs Level 4

Here at CASL Management Development we have been approved as an assessment centre for people looking to take NVQs in construction and Transportation. NVQs level 3, 4 and 5. This section deals specifically with the NVQ's level 3 we have available.

Upon a successful pass with the level NVQs level 4 and the appropriate health and safety test you are able to apply for a CSCS card. Certain NVQs will also allow you to apply for certain professional bodies.

The NVQs level 4 available here at CASL in construction are; construction plant and equipment management, site inspection, planning supervision, construction contracting operations (general, buying, estimating, planning, surveying), construction site management (buildings and civil engineering, highway maintenance and repairs, residential development, conservation), built environment design.

We offer NVQs level 4 in Transportation; IHIE, ICE, IHT CILTUK. Depending on which is taken they can contribute to IEng, contribute to FIHIE IEng, lead directly to MIHT and contribute to IEng and CEng or lead directly to MILT. They will of course also require the relevant, HN, BSc or MEng as well.

NVQs Level 3

NVQs in Building

We here at CASL Management Development offer an approved assessment centre for NVQs in Building (construction) at levels 3,4 & 5 with the awarding body of Edexcel, Chartered Institute of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers.

When the NVQs in Building are combined with a pass at appropriate levels of H & S you are able to apply for an appropriate CSCS card. These being the Gold card with a pass at level 3, the Platinum card for passing level 4 and finally the Black card for a pass at level 5. If you wish to apply then we will gladly advise you on the application process.

Certain NVQs in Building are useful for applying for membership to professional bodies such as the Institute of Civil Engineers or The Chartered Institute of Building.

NVQs in Building that we are able to offer here include construction site supervision (conservation, residential development, highways maintenance and repair), construction contracting operations (general, buying, estimating, STS, surveying, planning), built environment design, construction senior management, site inspection and construction plant and equipment management.

CASL TMS Consultancy

CASL TMS is a partnership between CASL Management Development and TMS Consultancy, approved to offer National Transportation Qualifications at Levels 3, 4, and 5 through the Open University Awarding Body.

We were approved by the Open University Awarding Body as an assessment centre of NTQ'a levels 3, 4 & 5 in November 2004. We certified our first candidates for NVQ's in Transportation in June 2006 amongst those certified was the countries first level 5.

Both partners are closely involved in the development of the Awarding Body primarily to ensure that the standards of the industry and the Professional Institutions are considered and maintained.

Annual External Verification visits by Edexcel have awarded the CASL Management Training centre an ‘A’ grade for Assessment, Internal verification and centre management (2005). The company also employs part-time Assessors and Internal Verifiers.

The company received Chartered Building Consultancy status from the CIOB in July 2005.

CSCS Cards

We are able to offer 3 types of CSCS cards to applicants who meet each schemes criteria. The 3 on offer from to applicants of our NVQ courses.These are:

The gold supervisor card for achievers of NVQ level 3
The platinum manager card for achievers of NVQ level 4
The Black contract manager card for achievers of NVQ level 5.

For you to actually secure a CSCS card you must pass a Health and Safety test. This test is to give everybody working within construction the minimum required knowledge of health and safety, this help to give more confidence in the people you are working with, knowing they are safety aware and are less likely to be the cause of unnecessary accidents.

National Vocational Qualifications

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) are qualifications that are based on standards in occupations on a national basis. The standards required have been developed by employers to best help serve their particular industry or service.

Here at CASL each candidate is given help in starting off on the National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs). The assessor will meet with him/her to explain how to use the NVQ documents, how to present the portfolio, gather the evidence, explain where to send the NVQ work, what happens to it when it is received at the centre, and to answer any questions.

We have expertise in approving, developing and assessing National Vocational Qualifications and an assessment centre approved to offer National Vocational Qualifications at level 3, 4 and 5 in construction and transportation.

We are dedicated to helping people to turn their own abilities into qualifications that are recognised internationally with Construction National Vocational Qualifications through the joint body of Edexcel, CIOB and ICE and Transport Vocational Qualifications through OUAB.

We can work with large companies, small businesses and private individuals offering the same high level of commitment to ensure each clients receives a high level of support. To meet the requirements of the National Vocational Qualifications candidates must show their abilities to experienced assessors with work based evidence.

Here at CASL we are an approved centre for NVQs in Construction at level 3, 4 and 5 with the joint awarding body of Edexcel, Chartered Institute of Building and the Institution of Civil Engineers.
